Page 6 The Griffin January 200750 Years Together Eddie and Edith Forsyth Our Life Together By: Eddie Forsyth, Clan Forsyth Society U.S.A. Genealogist Edith lived in the City of Niagara Falls until her family moved to the Wilson area of Niagara County, New York in 1951. I was born in the Town of Lockport, but when I was six months old, my family moved to the hamlet of Burt. Edith and I lived about six miles from one another, but it was not until the summer of 1954 that my best friend introduced us. I instantly liked Edith’s smile and though she was cute and I understand she thought I was a handsome guy. I was an over-the-road tractor-trailer driver and away a lot, so it was not until the following summer, 1955, that I settled down and we started dating. Edith was still in high school, so we steady dated for about a year and six months before I gave her an engagement ring and finally asked her to marry me. We were married on December 29 th, 1956 in a Church in Wilson. During our early married life we resided at various places before finally buying our home on Beattie Avenue in 1969, where we still live. We have seven children, four sons, three daughters and eighteen grandchildren. We struggled at times like most married couples do, especially getting started, but God brought us together and with our faith in Jesus Christ as our Saviour and Lord. He brought us safely through our many years of happiness and joy.P.S. Eddie also celebrated his 75 th birthday in early December.Eddie and Edith 1956 Eddie and Edith 2006
